A BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE WORLD

This cosmic union of best friends came together over 25 years ago on a beach in Puerto Rico. Dylan Graves was sponsored by Quiksilver at the time and Jerry was hired to film Dylan surfing on his home turf. The stars aligned, the moon pulled, the waves got big, and they traveled the world together almost nonstop for the next 5 years. Every time the earth made a trip around the sun, another cosmic union formed. Dave joined next and we launched video production for Transworld Surf Magazine. Planets rotated, tides pulled, vibes vibrated, and along we went. We made the pilot for the much-decorated newsmagazine show VICE on HBO and our circle got bigger. Eclipses happened, we danced with dictators, chewed gum in the Oval Office , then Dylan and Dave made Weird Waves for Vans and it blew up. Meteor showers rained down and we made more documentaries, taught Harmony Korine how to camp, sailed to Antarctica (twice), and taught a generation of filmmakers how to do more with less. We started to take less (commercial) flights and put more miles on our trucks. Aviation electrified Ian, we explored America, found weirder waves, and found the biggest wave yet when we helped to shoot the pilot of HBO’s 100 Foot Wave. Our circle keeps growing, our passions keep rewarding us, and our vision for how to find great stories is getting even sharper in our age.
